Mexico and Poland played out a cagey 0-0 draw in Tuesday’s second Group C fixture, with Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa’s pivotal second-half penalty save denying striker Robert Lewandoski a first-ever World Cup goal.

Action on the pitch at Doha’s Stadium 974 failed to match the boisterous atmosphere generated by the thousands of Mexican fans in attendance, with both sides proving blunt in attack.

Mexico dominated possession throughout but will be relieved to have escaped with a draw after Lewandoski’s prize opportunity in the 58th minute.
